Rebecca Moden, CEO of the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ)

Each year, the CLARB president presents the Presidential Recognition Award to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to our organization and to the regulation of landscape architecture. On September 19 during the CLARB Annual Meeting 2025 in Lexington, Kentucky, outgoing president Joel Kurokawa presented the Presidential Recognition Award to Rebecca Moden, chief executive officer of the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ).

Moden joined the CLARB staff in 2004, and over the years grew into increasingly impactful leadership roles, ultimately serving as chief operating officer until her departure to CIDQ in May 2025. At CLARB she led many of the systems, programs and services that our members, candidates and licensees rely on every day.

Her leadership shaped nearly every area of CLARB operations: from the L.A.R.E. to the CLARB Record system, from finance and technology infrastructure to meetings, events and customer service. She partnered closely with our board of directors, supported critical committees, and built and mentored a talented staff team.

“Those of us who had the privilege of working with Rebecca know that she embodies professionalism, integrity, and care — always putting people first while never losing sight of strategy and results,” said Kurokawa. “Her contributions have left an indelible mark on CLARB’s ability to serve our mission of protecting the public’s health, safety, and well-being through licensure. Thank you, Rebecca!”
