Nebraska embraces licensure mobility, adopts CLARB Uniform Standard

We are pleased to celebrate a significant milestone for the landscape architecture profession. Nebraska has officially adopted the CLARB Uniform Standard.

With the passage of Legislative Bill 696, signed into law on May 15, Nebraska becomes the eighth CLARB member board to align with the Uniform Standard. This alignment represents a major step toward enhancing licensure mobility across jurisdictions. It supports the public interest by ensuring that licensed landscape architects are properly trained and qualified while also enabling greater ease of practice across state, provincial and territorial boundaries.

Amending a statute to achieve this change is a substantial accomplishment. This success reflects the strong leadership of the Nebraska State Board of Landscape Architects and the effective collaboration among CLARB, the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and the Nebraska and Dakotas Chapter of ASLA. We offer special thanks to Dennis Bryers and Jennifer Seacrest for their meaningful contributions to this effort.

The board will now move forward with updating its regulations to fully implement the change and join seven other CLARB member boards in alignment with the Uniform Standard.
