CLARB presented the 2026 President's Recognition Award to the volunteers who represented the organization on the ICOR Practice Overlap Task Force, recognizing more than three years of service on a first-of-its-kind guidance project for licensing boards.
The award, presented by CLARB President Brian Verardo at the 2026 CLARB Annual Meeting, honors volunteers whose extraordinary service has distinguished itself through exceptional leadership and lasting impact on CLARB and the profession. This year, CLARB recognized a group rather than an individual: Jerany Jackson, Phil Meyer and Judith Stapley of the task force's steering committee, and Chip Brown, See-Yin Lim, Leehu Loon and Ryan Evitts of its landscape architecture subcommittee.
"These individuals have served as CLARB's representatives on the ICOR Practice Overlap Task Force since 2022, providing countless hours of service," Verardo said. "It's safe to say this undertaking was a lot bigger than any of us imagined when we started."
The task force examined areas of practice that overlap across the design professions, developing guidance intended to bring greater clarity and consistency to how licensing boards handle those areas. The project required extensive discussion and collaboration among representatives from multiple design disciplines.

"That work would not have been possible without the dedication and expertise of this outstanding group of volunteers."
CLARB also thanked the full ICOR Practice Overlap Task Force for its contributions to the initiative. The organization credited the group's willingness to engage in meaningful discussion and work toward a shared goal as instrumental to the project's success.
