CLARB Board of Directors

Duties

• Participate in governance duties as described above
• Responsible for communicating the board’s decisions to the membership
• Gain understanding of key board processes and governance communications

Eligibility

No restrictions. Majority of board of directors must be licensed landscape architects.

Term

Three years. Terms begin October 1.

Time commitment

• All-day* meetings: 11 days/year
• Virtual meetings: 10 hours/year
• Meeting preparations: 20 hours/year

While schedules change from year to year, a typical year includes three in-person board meetings (November, June and September) and multiple virtual meetings. CLARB's fiscal year runs October 1-September 30.

Duties

• President chairs the board of directors.
• President-elect serves as president in the president's absence.
• Past president chairs the Leadership Advisory Council.

All three positions

• Participate in governance duties as described above
• Serve as a member of the organization’s Executive Committee and Audit and Finance Committee
• Establish and maintain key external relationships and understand roles and opportunities for collaboration

Eligibility

Must be a licensed landscape architect.

Term

Three-year commitment (automatic succession to president then past president). Terms begin October 1.
