About
The International Federation of Landscape Architects Africa Region (IFLA Africa) is the body representing landscape architects across Africa. As one of five regional groups within the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), it works to promote recognition of the profession, increase educational opportunities and advance landscape architecture practice in Africa. IFLA Africa currently includes eight national member associations.
Mission
IFLA Africa’s current action plan includes a focus on landscape architectural education and building an awareness of the profession and its role in tackling climate change on the continent. Through advocacy, knowledge-sharing and collaboration with international partners, IFLA Africa works to elevate the recognition of landscape architects in shaping sustainable, resilient and equitable communities across the continent.
Areas of collaboration
In 2025 CLARB and IFLA Africa signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their collaboration. This partnership provides critical data and regulatory expertise to support professional recognition and mobility across Africa. CLARB will share insights from its Global Job Task Analysis, country-specific reports and technical guidance on regulation and licensure models.
