Following the board's FY25 learning priority on community expansion, CLARB adopted an Engagement and Growth Strategy grounded in member feedback, board discussions and staff input. Implementation is already underway, and to carry this work forward in a consistent, coordinated way, we established a new position: Senior Manager, Community Engagement and Growth.

We knew from the start we wanted a licensed landscape architect in this role — someone with the credibility and professional fluency to make a meaningful impact. We didn't have to look far. Our extraordinary volunteer community was the obvious place to start, and our top candidate accepted our invitation.

We are thrilled to welcome Candace Melton Dillingham, PLA, ASLA to the CLARB staff team on May 4!

Candace brings more than 30 years of experience in landscape architecture, business leadership and professional regulation. As a licensed landscape architect and founder of a full-service firm, she has led more than 600 projects with nationally recognized work. Her CLARB volunteer service — including the Leadership Advisory Council and founding chair of the Sponsorship Work Group — reflects a long-standing commitment to our mission.

In her new role, Candace will collaborate with volunteer leadership, member boards and global partners to strengthen relationships, expand engagement and grow participation across the profession.

Please join us in congratulating Candace!
