The latest in our ongoing work to improve your candidate experience.

We've released some new and improved resources to help you prepare for the L.A.R.E.:

These updates are part of our continual efforts to make your path to licensure clearer and more supportive. You can learn more about that work, and the improvements that came before it, on our Improving the candidate experience page.

L.A.R.E. Candidate Handbook

We've refreshed the L.A.R.E. Candidate Handbook, formerly known as the L.A.R.E. Orientation Guide, with updated content and a new design. The handbook walks you through the processes and policies you need to know, from exam approval and registration to test day and results, so you can spend less time searching for answers and more time preparing.

The new design makes information easier to find and understand, and it gives you a clearer picture of what to expect before you sit for a section. We encourage you to review the handbook as a first step in your preparation.

Expanded diagnostic feedback, same exam

(opens in new tab)We've expanded the performance feedback you receive if you don't pass a section of the L.A.R.E. Your feedback now shows which subdomains need the most attention as you prepare to retake the section.

This change affects only the information you receive after an exam attempt. The exam itself has not changed. L.A.R.E. content/blueprint, exam scoring, passing standards and exam administration all remain the same.

With more targeted feedback, you can focus your preparation and make more informed decisions about your study plan.

Refreshed recommended resources list

Thanks to candidate feedback and our regular review, the resource list now features books that are easier to find, replacing titles that were out of print or hard to track down.
