Developing the L.A.R.E.

This dedicated team of volunteers is comprised of licensed landscape architects who continually develop and maintain the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.).

About

The CLARB Exam Committee is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.), as well as other exam-related activities as directed by the CLARB Board of Directors.

The committee’s work is supported and guided by professional psychometricians who are trained and experienced in the development, administration, and evaluation of high-stakes licensure examinations.

Responsibilities

This committee of licensed landscape architects develops exam content, ensures fairness and defensibility, reviews statistical performance and candidate feedback, and assures that each administration of the L.A.R.E. reflects the broad scope of landscape architecture practice. The committee is composed of members from a wide range of geographic regions, scopes of practice, levels of experience, and professional backgrounds to reflect the diversity of the candidate population.
