CLARB-NAMLA program supports access to landscape architecture licensure

CLARB is proud to announce the continuation of our partnership with the National Association of Minority Landscape Architects (NAMLA) to offer the L.A.R.E. Reimbursement Grant Program.

“We share a deep commitment with NAMLA to expanding access within the profession,” said CLARB CEO Matt Miller. “Together we collaborate on initiatives that remove barriers to licensure and promote access to landscape architecture.”

CLARB has again committed financial support to help qualified candidates pursue landscape architecture licensure. The program covers the full cost of passed L.A.R.E. exams plus a one-year CLARB Record for one grantee.

“We believe that a diverse profession is a stronger profession,” said NAMLA Executive Director Steven Chavez. “The continuation of this grant program represents our commitment to breaking down financial barriers to licensure and creating pathways for underrepresented professionals to advance in landscape architecture.”

ABOUT CLARB

The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) is a US-based organization that works to protect the public’s health, safety and welfare by establishing and promoting professional licensure standards. Its 56 members are the licensure boards across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands.

CLARB prepares, administers and scores the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.) which assesses the ability of prospective licensees to protect the public’s health, safety and wellbeing. CLARB also manages a professional information system called the CLARB Record, through which landscape architects document and verify their education, experience, examination and licensure history. The Record helps reduce barriers to mobility by streamlining the initial and reciprocal licensure processes. For more than 50 years, CLARB has worked to defend landscape architectural licensure in support of protecting both people and planet.
