Veterans can now use GI Bill benefits to cover L.A.R.E. costs

CLARB is proud to announce that U.S. veterans can now use their GI Bill benefits to reimburse costs associated with taking the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.).

The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) has been approved as an institution by the Department of Veterans Affairs, allowing eligible veterans to seek reimbursement for examination fees.

"As a veteran who personally benefited from the GI Bill, I'm thrilled that CLARB can now offer this opportunity to those who have served our country," said Matt Miller, CLARB CEO. "This approval represents our commitment to supporting veterans as they transition to civilian careers in landscape architecture."

Learn about licensure

Licensure is a recognized credential that demonstrates your qualifications by showing that you have the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to practice landscape architecture without endangering the health, safety or welfare of the public.

Once you meet specific requirements for education, examination and experience, you can apply to become a licensed landscape architect. Learn more:

Protecting People and Planet

The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization that works to protect the public’s health, safety and welfare by establishing and promoting professional licensure standards. Our members are the licensure boards across the United States and Canada.

We prepare, administer and score the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.) which assesses the ability of prospective licensees to protect the public’s health, safety and welfare.

We also manage a professional information system called the CLARB Council Record (start your Record here), through which landscape architects document and verify their education, experience, examination and licensure history. The Record helps reduce barriers to mobility by streamlining the initial and reciprocal licensure processes.
