UPDATE MONDAY, MARCH 30, 2020:

CLARB has been following the news of the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, throughout North America. Out of an abundance of caution and concern for our exam candidates, the decision was made to postpone the April L.A.R.E. exam dates.

CLARB and its test center partner, Pearson VUE, have identified May 23 - June 14 as the “make-up” administration window.

All candidates with a current registration for the April administration will be automatically registered for the make-up administration and can begin scheduling appointment(s) through Pearson VUE immediately.

While CLARB fully expects the L.A.R.E. to be administered during this “make-up” window, we will continue to work within the recommendations of Pearson VUE and follow CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our exam candidates, test center staff, and the public.  If continued circumstances make it so the “make-up” window cannot happen as scheduled, CLARB will notify all candidates and this administration will not be rescheduled.

COVID-19 UPDATE & FAQ
April L.A.R.E. Administration Postponed

UPDATED MARCH 16, 2020:
We are reaching out to all candidates registered for the April L.A.R.E. administration with an important update related to the upcoming exam administration. CLARB has been following the news of the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, throughout North America. It is out of an abundance of caution and concern for our exam candidates that we have made the decision to postpone the April L.A.R.E. exam dates of March 23-April 4.

Our staff is working with our test center provider, Pearson VUE, to identify a new administration window that works within both capacity of the test centers and protects the safety of all candidates, staff, local communities and the public. As soon as a testing window has been identified, CLARB will notify you with instructions to schedule your appointment(s) with Pearson VUE.

All current exam appointments will be canceled and you will receive an email directly from Pearson VUE notifying you of your exam appointment cancellation.

Your exam registration(s) will be carried over into the postponed "make-up" exam administration. No candidate who is currently registered for the L.A.R.E. will need to re-register. You will receive information regarding the new administration window and cancellation deadline as soon as they are available. If you choose to cancel your registration out of concerns surrounding COVID-19 or due to scheduling difficulties within the new exam administration, all cancellation fees will be waived and a full refund will be granted. Unfortunately, CLARB will not be able to re-register any candidates if a cancellation is requested.

We understand this announcement is inconvenient, however CLARB’s main goal is to protect the public, the candidates, and all the staff involved in the administration of the exam. CLARB is continuing to follow the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and we appreciate your understanding.

CLARB will continue to update you via email and through this page so you can find the most up-to-date information on our contingency planning for the exam and frequently asked questions regarding the “make-up” administration for the L.A.R.E.

Thank you for your patience as we work through the details for the "make-up" administration of the exam. We send our best wishes for safety and health for you, your families, and your colleagues, as we navigate this unprecedented time.
